So Missouri went down to Stillwater last night needing to live up to the hype of being the #2 team in the country.
And instead of rolling a mediocre Oklahoma State team, they let the Cowboys hang around. With about five minutes to go, Missouri was up 60-53. Momentum was on their side.
Then some guy named La’Bryan Nash proceeded to knock every damn shot on the floor. Half-court hook shot? Count it. Three with his back facing the basket? Nailed. A punt from the free throw line? Swish.
Missouri couldn’t hit water if they fell off a wrecked Italian cruise ship (wow, that’s in poor taste), and OKST just throttled them. Missouri lost 79-72 and that sweet #2 ranking will soon be a thing of the past.
Luckily for the Tigers, they get Texas Tech at home on Saturday. They crush the opposition at home, so there’s no reason to sweat this game, right? Right? RIGHT?!
I don’t know. Texas Tech is really bad. They don’t present any size issues, no one outside of Jordan Tolbert shoots well and…well, that’s gonna hurt you. Missouri should take Tech apart without any issues.
Monday’s game at Texas, though, has me worried. They need that boost before KU comes to Columbia next Saturday.
